Labor Day has come and gone, school is back in session, and the nights are really starting to cool off, which can only mean one thing: Our favorite season is here. Yes, the leaves changing and the re-establishment of pumpkin as a food group is nice, but fall takes the seasonal cake because of the unparalleled opportunities for dressing that it provides. Autumn has it all when it comes to a sartorial season’s bounty. The color palette is full of burnished reds, rich browns and deep greens—offered in everything from sweaters and shirt jackets to blazers—you name it, fall can layer it.
As we ease into the cooler weather, we’re starting out with our favorite fall-specific pieces. Work pants are a go-to for September and October—ready for the office and for drinks afterward, they’re the perfect remedy for shorts fatigue. Likewise, the layers can finally come out, and boy, are we ready. A monochrome sweater is always a solid choice, but we’re embracing bolder knits this fall. Vests are finally cool again, especially ones that sit right in the middle of the casual-to-classy continuum. As for footwear, we’re firm believers that when the leaves change, your shoe choices should too. Sandals and sneakers can take a backseat to boots and mocs, especially ones that incorporate a little texture. There are so many places to start when it comes to your fall wardrobe, but don’t worry, we’re here to ease you into things.
